Professor Barbara McPake

The Program Director will work closely with ReLAB-HS Co-Director, Professor Barbara McPake. As Director of the Nossal Institute for Global Health at the University of Melbourne, Professor McPake’s research focuses on the application of economic theories and methods to enhance understanding of health system strengthening in low- and middle-income countries. Her work includes health financing, contracts within public health systems, health workforce, hospital reform and health system issues relating to conflict-affected states. Professor McPake has made a significant contribution to training the next generation of health system economists.
Dr Bachani and Professor McPake will provide overall management and direction for the program. They will be supported by an Operations Manager, who will oversee activities and serve as liaison between USAID and ReLAB-HS. ADD BRIEF BIO.
