The Nossal Institute for Global Health has collaborated with senior government and non-government actors in Burma. Partnerships in public health and rehabilitation include supporting safe farming practices and farmer livelihoods in ‘One Health’ and developing surveillance systems for non-communicable diseases. The Nossal Institute is currently leading work to estimate the burden of different variants of dengue as a basis for developing a business case for further investment. Recently, they led an evaluation of the Nippon Foundation’s investment in prosthetics and orthotics training and services in eight countries, including Burma. In addition, the Nossal Institute is currently supporting WHO’s Global Assistive Product survey, including providing technical advice to national survey coordinators in Burma.
